Roxelle Olivia Lee was born on May 14th, 1985 to Delia Lee and Ray Andrew off the shores of Waikiai, Hawaii. Growing up, she was a very well behaved and loved child. Although her parents split when she was young, Roxy grew up with her mother in Waikiki along the beach, which she never minded at all. She had a quiet upbringing, her mom kept in a small circle of close friends and never wanted any harm to come to her daughter's way. She wasn't too overly protective, but she was just enough as to where she grew up, and still to this day, being best friends with her mom. When her parents split up, her father, Ray moved to a small town in Georgia where he married for the first time and got his life together more. He was in and out of prison and he had a problem with alcohol, which he never showed around Roxy and growing up she was very thankful for that.
Roxy was always entertaining people in one way or another growing up. Her mom knew that she had potential and knew that she wouldn't get far in the beaches and shores of Waikiki, and as much as they loved it there, her mom made the move to Los Angeles in late 1996. She auditioned for roles like crazy until eventually landing the role of Jill in the direct-to-video sequel, Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. It wasn't until then that she 100% knew what she wanted to do, she wanted to act, and she wasn't going to let anything stop her. After that, she heard about the casting of Jackie Burkhart in That 70's Show, and auditioned and lied to the producers about her age, stating she was older than she actually was. Her height and attitude passed by the creators and directors, and she was offered the role and accepted it without hesitation. This character was particularly really challenging for her, but she got used to it. Her character on the show was the complete opposite of how Roxy's personality actually is, but her cast mates made it really easy to adapt. Still continuing with her love of film as well, in 2001 she landed the part in another direct-to-film DVD in Holiday in the Sun as bad girl Brianna Wallace. She says that the role of Jackie helped her with this role to be "bad" as the producers told her to be, and she enjoyed it (maybe possibly because she got to lounge on the beach a lot that reminded her of home) and she even to this day will brag about how she got to meet the girlgroup Play. It wasn't too long after filming Holiday in the Sun when she landed a minor part in Get Over It as Basin. After Dark Angel ended in 2002, she took a break and focused on her family, school and dancing until she got the role of Tamara in "Tamara" and soon followed the role of Sue Storm in Fantastic Four. As Roxy found out was pregnant with her first child in fall of 2008. She has always been hush hush about who her daughter's father is for numerous reasons, one of them being he's not involved in her life. Roxy is very protective of her daughter in many ways, and doesn't like posting pictures of her a whole lot even though she's an active Twitter and Instagram user. She inherited that from her mom, no doubt about it. After Filming Forgetting Sarah Marshall, she took almost a year off of work to have her daughter and focus on her before landing the role of Joyce Lakeland in The Killer Inside Me, which she states was one of her most challenging and fun roles to date because of the darkness. After this film, she stayed working landed the role of Jamie in Friends With Benefits in 2011, and in the 2012 comedy Ted, as Lori Collins. She even has a talking Ted bear that she shows everyone when they come over. Shortly after this, Roxy landed the role of Freya Beauchamp in The Witches of East End. She relocated to North Carolina for filming and stays there during filming, and enjoys it even though it's obviously very different from Waikiki. She loves the role of Freya and the show as a whoole because she has always been a fan of witches, she sites that she has been a horror fan since she started to watch movies, with The Craft being her inspiration for her witch love, which is why it was easy for her to take on the role of Tamara in 2005. Roxelle still has a passion for film, reprising her role in Sin City: A Dame to Kill for, and staring in How To Make Love Like An Englishman. She has two films out due in 2015. Roxy recently gave birth to her second daugher, Serena, in October 2014. |
